Week Three EOC: "Making Money for Good"

Hand in Hand is one of the many organizations in the world that is a successful for-profit organization that gives partial or full proceeds to third-world countries. “By directly tying charitable donations to the sale of an everyday product, Hand in Hand is able to give soap and clean water to those in need and save lives without depending on a single donation."( http://www.handinhandsoap.com/pages/about-us) For every bar or bottle of soap bought, Hand in Hand donates a bar of soap and a month of clean water to a child in need worldwide. By doing so, Hand in Hand has made a huge impact in third-world countries. I know from personal experience, including my mother’s childhood experiences due to her growing up in Haiti (a third-world country), that preserving water doesn’t last long, and you make do with what you’re given. And with Hand in Hand providing these kind of benefits to people in need around the world makes me happy.

Another charitable for-profit organization would be Baby Teresa. “For each baby outfit purchased on Baby Teresa, an outfit is donated to another child. The company also donates a portion of their accessories sales to provide baby formula in orphanages.” (http://baby-teresa.com/about-us/) By providing extra clothing for orphans, it gives the orphanages one less thing to worry about when finding the right home for those children. The last organization that I will mention will be Roma Boots. “Our Mission: "Giving poverty the boot" by bringing children from around the world hope, love and lasting change through aid and education. For you. For all.” (http://romaboots.com/pages/roma-faqs) Not only does Roma boots donate a pair, they fill it with school supplies to a child in need. Furthering the impact of education for future generations to come. That is something definitely worth while in the long run.
